Macomb County Facilities and Operations Director Lynn Arnott-Bryks has been with the county so long “she’s the only one in this county who makes me look like a rookie,” said Don Brown, who has been on the county Board of Commissioners for over 30 years. “Commissioner Brown, you remember when my hair was brown,” quipped Arnott-Bryks.
Arnott-Bryks was recognized last week for her 50 years as a county employee with a proclamation by the board. She has been in her current position since 1984 after starting with the county in 1972, two years out of high school. “This was totally unexpected, and I appreciate the time and effort it took to give me this resolution,” she told the board. “I guess I’m old now.” She described as “priceless” the reaction she gets from people when she tells them how long she has been employed by the county. Arnott-Bryks often appears in front of the board to seek approval for expenditure of budget dollars for various maintenance and improvement projects on county property. “You listen to what I have to say and most of the time you’re approving the expenditure,” she said. She started with the county as a temporary summer employee at a rate of $2.48 per hour and worked in a variety of positions during the initial years, including stenographer. LAUDERDALE LAKES, FLA. (WSVN) - Authorities have safely located a 3-year-old boy hours after he was reported missing from Lauderdale Lakes. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a Florida Missing Child Alert for Isaiah Louise-Jeune, Sunday afternoon. The toddler had been last seen along the 3900 block of Northwest 33rd Terrace. Investigators said the child was possibly in the company of 27-year-old Marie Benoit and may have been traveling in a silver 2012 Volkswagen Jetta.
